- Account Information: Email address and Apple ID (through App Store)
- Ranch Data: All information you enter into the app including:
- Animal records (tag numbers, breeds, birth dates, medical records)
- Herd organization and assignments
- Hay production records
- Equipment and task information
- Sales and financial records
- Support Communications: Messages you send us through the app or website
Information Collected Automatically
- Location Data: GPS coordinates when using spread tracking and paddock mapping features (only when you actively use these features)
- Usage Data: How you interact with the app (features used, frequency of use)
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the Ranch Manager app functionality
- Sync your data across your devices via iCloud
- Display USDA market price information
- Provide GPS-based features (spread tracking, paddock mapping)
- Respond to your support requests and communications
- Improve the app and develop new features
- Send important service announcements and updates
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Data Storage and Security
Where Your Data is Stored
- Local Storage: All ranch data is stored locally on your iOS device
- iCloud: Data is automatically backed up to your personal iCloud account
- Our Servers: We do NOT store your ranch data on our servers
Security Measures
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:
- All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
- iCloud data is encrypted both in transit and at rest
- Local device data is protected by iOS security features
- We use secure authentication through Apple ID
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
4. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.
We may share your information only in these limited circumstances:
Service Providers
- Apple (iCloud): For data backup and sync. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy
- USDA: We retrieve publicly available market price data (we do not share your data with USDA)
- Analytics Services: Aggregated, anonymized usage data to improve the app

Access and Control

- Access Your Data: View all data you've entered in the app

Location Permissions
You can control location access through iOS Settings:
Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Ranch Manager
Location is only used when you actively use GPS features (spread tracking, paddock mapping).
iCloud Sync
You can disable iCloud sync in iOS Settings:
Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Ranch Manager (toggle off)
6. Children's Privacy
Ranch Manager is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
7. Third-Party Services
USDA Market Prices
We retrieve publicly available cattle market prices from the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service. This data is provided for informational purposes only. We do not share any of your information with USDA.
Map Data
Satellite imagery is provided by Esri. GPS tracking occurs entirely on your device and map data is cached locally.
8. Data Retention
- Active Data: Retained as long as you use the app
- Deleted Records: Permanently removed from your device and iCloud when you delete them
- Account Deletion: All data permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion request
- Backup Data: iCloud backups are controlled by your Apple ID settings
9. International Users
Ranch Manager is operated in the United States. If you are located outside the United States, please be aware that information you provide will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by:
- Posting the new Privacy Policy in the app and on this website
- Updating the "Effective Date" at the top
- Sending a notification through the app (for significant changes)
Your continued use of Ranch Manager after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
11. California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
